Office Organization

As a professional organizer, I realize that one of the hardest places to keep organized is your home office/ craft room. There is an abundance of organizational supplies on the market today that can help organize all your drawers, papers, files etc. Here are some great ideas that I have come across that may be easy to integrate into your home office.Photos Above: Pottery Barn

ACCEPT WHAT YOU CAN'T CHANGE

Newspapers have fascinated me for decades with all that they offer a person and the next day, newspapers print a new edition and again and every day. They are such a treasure. I idolized newspaper columnists who produced personalized columns about every subject from politics to cooking. Somehow I wanted to be like them and write a column or a newsletter and thanks to the Internet I’ve been sending e-mail newsletters to you for years.
Yet I think I am an old-fashioned girl in a new media kind of world. Newspapers agencies and their writers are being downsized because of other delivery methods. Columns are also disappearing as people like short and sweet messages such as Twitter or text messaging. Fewer people are interested in taking the time to read a full length column whether it be about parenting or getting organized.
All my experts tell me to get out of the newsletter business and get on Facebook or write a blog instead of paying to send out a monthly newsletter. It’s taken me a while to come to the same conclusion. Within a month or two, sometime this summer, I plan to shut down the monthly newsletter and find a better way to communicate with my fabulous database of readers that are looking for motivation to get them organized.
Before I stop the newsletter, I’ll get a blog or some other delivery method set up in case you are interested in my ideas for staying in the world of personal organization and I’ll tell you how to find me. Of course you can always visit the website.
What I enjoy is hearing from you and your suggestions after I write a column. You have brightened many of my days with your stories of courage and tragedy and joy.
I appreciate the thousands of friends who took the time to sign up and to read the messages. As always, thanks for sharing some of your valuable time with me.
